The context is suspended - WHITEOUT: "The visitors get the impression of being in totally empty, endlessly extended space. As a consequence the horizon disappears and the floor and sky are merged together seamlessly". The only thing which remains is the stadtpark, the new horizon with its trees and the slightly undulating landscape. This landscape itself is transformed into the floor of the vienna house of music. The trees are penetrating the roof. Its form follows mainly the floor, just modified by the impact of reflection. Convex surface areas leading to a distraction of sound waves meanwhile concave parts are leading to a concentration. Different heights and different lighting situations are generating an endless number of spaces. It is our intention to achieve a universal space which receives its programm by the usage modes. This modes are changing over hours over a day or a whole year. WHITEOUT means the reduction of architecture to form a space for music.
